Service Questions
What services does Badger Land Designs offer?
We specialize in core aeration, professional overseeding, brush and debris removal, lawn dethatching, power raking, fertilization, soil treatment, landscape bed preparation and maintenance, and seasonal cleanup services.
When is the best time for aeration and overseeding?
In Michigan, the best times are early fall (September-October) and early spring (April-May). Fall is generally preferred as it gives grass time to establish before winter and provides ideal growing conditions.
How often should I have my lawn aerated?
Most lawns benefit from annual aeration, especially those with heavy clay soil or high foot traffic. Some lawns may only need aeration every 2-3 years depending on soil conditions and usage.
Pricing & Scheduling
How do you determine pricing?
Pricing is based on lawn size, services requested, and property conditions. We provide free, detailed quotes with transparent pricing and no hidden fees. Contact us for a personalized estimate.
Do you require a deposit?
For projects over $500, we require a deposit of 33-50% to secure your service date and cover initial materials. The remaining balance is due upon completion.
How far in advance should I schedule services?
We recommend scheduling 1-2 weeks in advance, especially during peak seasons (spring and fall). For urgent needs like storm cleanup, we offer expedited scheduling when possible.
Maintenance & Care
What should I do after aeration and overseeding?
Keep the seeded area consistently moist (not soaked) for 2-3 weeks. Avoid heavy foot traffic until new grass is established. We'll provide detailed aftercare instructions with every service.
How long before I see results?
Aeration benefits are immediate for water and nutrient absorption. New grass from overseeding typically germinates in 7-14 days, with full establishment in 6-8 weeks under proper conditions.
Can I mow my lawn after aeration?
Yes, you can mow immediately after aeration. If overseeding was done, wait until new grass reaches 3-4 inches before the first mowing, and set your mower to its highest setting.
Service Areas & Logistics
What areas do you serve?
We proudly serve Ada, Cascade, and Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a local company, we understand the unique soil and climate conditions of West Michigan.
Do I need to be home during service?
No, you don't need to be home. We'll contact you before arrival and provide updates upon completion. We do ask that sprinkler systems be turned off and any obstacles be moved from the lawn area.
What if weather affects my scheduled service?
We monitor weather conditions closely and will reschedule if conditions aren't suitable for quality work. We'll contact you as soon as possible to arrange an alternative date.
